Welcome to my classroom. I am so excited to be here with your children this year! My name is Kim Drewes. I received my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from Illinois State University in 1997. I attained my first teaching job at Cantrell Elementary that year, and married my husband. I taught pre-k and first grade. During that time, I started on my Masters degree in Reading Education from Western Illinois University. In March of 2000, we began our family, and I left the teaching field to be a stay at home mom. I decided to go back to teaching when my youngest went to Kindergarten. I was offered a job share (working 2-3 days a week) for Kindergarten, which was perfect for me as I was not ready to be full time yet after being home 10 years. I had a wonderful experience, and met some amazing people. When the job at LFS came open this year, I knew I was ready to have my own classroom at the school I call my home. I am so honored to be here, and more excited than you could ever imagine!
